How to disable a Volkano TagTrace
This article is related to the Volkano TagTrace and Google’s Find My Device app.
The Volkano TagTrace can be disabled to stop it from sharing its location. It will no longer report to Google’s Find My Device network and the owner can no longer get updates on its current location.
If you receive a message on your Android device that a Volkano TagTrace has been detected near you and you are not familiar with this device, you can make this Volkano TagTrace ring through the system notification that you have received. After locating the item, use the steps described below to disable it. The owner will no longer receive updates on the location of this Volkano TagTrace and it will no longer trigger unknown tracker alerts.
By pressing and holding the button:
- Locate the button on the front corner of the Volkano TagTrace.
- Press the device button 5 times in 2 seconds quickly.
- When the device is disabled, you will hear a confirmation sound.
By removing the battery:
1.Use your fingernail or insert a small tool in the gap on the side of the Volkano TagTrace.
- Carefully pry open the device.
- Remove the battery.
- Close the Volkano TagTrace by aligning the top holes on both lids.
How to re-enable the Volkano TagTrace
Press the button:
- Press the button on your Volkano TagTrace to re-enable it.
- When the Volkano TagTrace is re-enabled, you will hear a confirmation sound.
Put back the battery:
Close the Volkano TagTrace by aligning the top holes on both lids.
Use your fingernail or insert a small tool in the gap on the side of the Volkano TagTrace.
Carefully pry open the device.
Place a CR2032 coin battery inside with the positive side up.
